EDITORS
I had learned much about publishing before starting Southern Christian Writers, but it had been years since I had a manuscript published. If I was going to lead writers, all of them pursuing independent publishing, it was time to publish again.
MY PLACE
Before we left to try another church, the Pastor’s sister made a request that led to us staying. “Can you start a writer’s group on the Westbank?”
CHANGE MY HEART
We had the same circular dead-end discussion about leaving. I told him I would not return, but I would not attend a different church either. I stayed home Sunday mornings, and worshipped God alone praying he would change my heart or change Rod’s.

THE JOURNEY ENDS
The publishing house suspended operations in January 2017, ending my marketing journey. I found it difficult to believe Dr. Tate was complicit in the illegal activities that took place.
WORDS OF WISDOM
More than one person stopped at my table to say, “Are you Mimi’s sister?” We are sisters in Christ but not by blood. Thanks to their curiosity, a third of my inventory sold.
A COMPETENT COMMUNICATOR
When a friend invited me to visit a Toastmaster meeting, I accepted. A group of writers taught me how to write. Therefore, it was reasonable that a group of speakers could teach me how to speak.
SOMEONE’S FAVORITE AUTHOR
. The only people in the tent were disappointed vendors and event staff pushing water out of the sagging tent ceiling. The tent lighting, no doubt affected by the rain, faded in and out. I considered leaving in the lull between downpours.
FAITH AND ANGELS
. The owner caught his escapee in front of our table. He pointed at Brigitte’s angel book. “They are not really angels,” he said. “They are beings from an alternate universe. Sometimes they come to our universe and help us.”
